- Sam:

- Actually, you and I have corresponded several times about this and you
- are the one who initiated sending the new ROMs. This was about two
- months ago, or so. This was all via e-mail and before you changed
- addresses. My last messages were apparently sent when someone else was
- monitoring your support line because some other name was on the reply.
-
- The ROMs arrived as promised and I installed them without problem but
- I've still got the same lockup problems. As I said somewhere
- previously, the problem has been less severe lately but I can't
- correlate that with the ROM change since I had modems lock up with the
- new ROMs in them. I have e-mail from other sites who are having this
- same problem.
-
- We've pretty much decided that we can't keep using the PPI modems even
- though they work just fine 99% of the time. Our local phone switch
- doesn't support forward on no answer so one bad modem can take down my
- whole modem pool. If you could solve this for us within the next
- couple of weeks, we'd love to keep using your stuff, but I'm pretty
- tired of those 2:00 a.m. trips to the college to reset hung modems!
- Feel free to followup either here or via e-mail. Several people have
- asked me to post the results for them.
-
- Thanks,
- Ron
